The immediate past president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rev. Dr. Felix Omobude has described the Honorary Consul of the Romanian Government to Edo and Delta states, Sir. (Chief) Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, as a pathfinder, visionary leader and a trailblazer whose impact has touched and affected every area of human lives in the society.
Omobude, who is also the founder of New Covenant Gospel Church, made the declaration at the early morning interdenominational service held in honour of Esama of Benin Kingdom, Chief Igbinedion, to mark his 89th birthday in Benin City, Edo State with the theme, “His Grace is Sufficient.”
The man God said Chief Esama was very brave and courageous to face his challenges and puts every other thing aside knowing that God is with him, and that his strength is from God.
Rev. Omobude said: “I count it a very great honour to stand here today to bring this message on behalf of a man I have grown to respect so highly. He is celebrating his 89th, birthday and chose as theme, His Grace is Sufficient, and I believed Chief Esama is making a statement by the essence of this celebration.”
He said God picked the Esama who he described as a generational boy from Okada, for a purpose, because, “when God wants to do what he wants to do, he does not take permission from anybody”.
Harping on the transformation the celebrant has brought to society, the cleric stated, “He (God) left the palaces and royalties around the world and headed for Okada, and chose someone from a very humble beginning. Was God saying something? When the Esama was born, was there any midwife, nurse or any doctor that was beside his mother? I am persuaded that probably there was none.
“The wise thing is that Chief Esama Igbinedion is producing doctors, nurses and midwives today. This is Chief Igbinedion and he has chosen to explain to us that all these things are happening just by the grace of God.
“Let me talk to you about Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, the visionary, a pathfinder and the trail balizer. He is like a man troubled by his dreams. He had fought all odds of life to emerge who he is. He had united his feat with his destiny. He has touched many lives in many areas of human endeavour.
“Chief Igbinedion the compassionate, teaches more people that God wants you to do something for somebody. Chief Igbinedion hears from God, but he does not style himself a prophet.
“He built churches and donated to worldly causes. As we mark the 89 birthday of this great man, may I also remind us that on the day Esama was born, there were many children born on that day and many of them are no more alive today. Chief Igbinedion has fought many battles and l hear them calling him, ‘the Lion of Okada.’
“Chief Igbinedion the sharer, he believes in sharing whatever God has given to him. He believes anything not worth sharing is not worth having. This and all by the grace of God,” Rev. Omobude added
Joining the birthday conversation, former president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, who described Chief Igbinedion as his bosom friend, prayed for more years and strength.
“Chief Esama is my friend, a very generous friend. You know, old friends are better than new friends. In fact, the Nigeria of today, you have to be careful before you say somebody is your friend.
“You don’t buy the age in ShopRite Supermarket. I said to myself 89 years old.,I join millions around the world to say congratulations to you the great Esama. May God that gave you grace for 89 years, give you grace for many more years, Amen.
“Your strength and your health will not fail you. Above all, the favour and grace of God will not fail you, Amen. Everybody here came here to rejoice with you, again I join them to say, Congratulations. God will continue to bless you and keep you alive for us in Jesus name, Amen,” he prayed.
Speaking on behalf of his father, former governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion commended everybody that came to celebrate the occasion with the Igbinedion household.
