Rev. Godwin Lale Ollor, Resident Priest of Holy Ghost Anglican Church in Alesa, Eleme Archdeaconary of the Niger Delta North Diocese has blamed some of the national crises on a lack of faith and calling for the reign of Christ over the land.
Rev. Lale Ollor, who spoke to National Point during the Palm Sunday procession of Holy Ghost Anglican Church, Alesa in Eleme Local Government Area, said a people run into crisis when they forsake the counsel of God.
“Today we celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, and we are taking a triumphant march around our community, declaring the kingship and reign of Christ over our land and people,” Rev. Ollor declared. “This victory march symbolizes the good tidings of God brought to His people.”

He emphasized that the significance of Palm Sunday lies in Christ’s victory over humanity, marking the beginning of God’s kingdom reigning over human kingdoms. “This is the beginning of the celebration, a proof that the Kingdom of God has come to reign over the kingdom of man.”
Rev. Ollor also highlighted the importance of the Passion Week, which commemorates Christ’s final days on earth. “We are passing on the message of peace and victory, the message that Christ lives and it’s only in Him that we can have victory and peace. We cannot find peace and victory in anything else.”
He connected the lack of peace and victory to the political crisis facing the nation. “Because we try to establish and use our own methodologies, we fail because we have crises. But if we have Christ, we can have things right. We need to establish God’s reign and victory over the powers of darkness and evil, and human ideologies that want to militate against the will and counsel of God.”

Rev. Ollor concluded by reminding the congregation that Passion Monday, the next day of the Passion Week, commemorates Christ driving out those who were hindering access to truth in the temple. He urged the congregation to continue their march towards Christ and a more peaceful future.
