Women Group Praise Otuaro’s Inclusiveness Model

The Niger Delta Progressive Women Worldwide has praised the Presidential Amnesty Coordinator, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, for the peace and security that the impacted communities model he adopted for inclusiveness is achieving in the Niger Delta.
The concept of impacted communities is a model adopted by the Presidential Amnesty Administrator to ensure that its programmes also accommodate oil impacted communities and not only the oil producing host communities.
According to the National Coordinator of the Niger Delta Progressive Women Worldwide, Comrade Andakuro Miebi, other government agencies, IOCs and development partners should adopt that model.
We commend the support of an experienced Technical Assistant, Daniel E. Biu and other staff in changing the narrative – The Niger Delta has never had it so good, enjoying a period of Peace, Stability and Development.
“Although we still have some challenges, Otuaro’s administration has indeed been momentous for the Niger Delta. Consequently, age-long grievances are melting away. The hope of a prosperous and the cry of marginalization, which the Niger Delta had been known for, is gradually fading as a result of the inclusion of impacted communities in its administrative policies and interventions.
“Since his appointment, he has contributed his quota in ensuring that the President’s vision of Development, Peace and Security in the Niger Delta Region is achieved,” Miebi said.
She commended Otuaro for steering the Amnesty Programme towards ensuring these goals are achieved by inclusion of host communities and investing in human capital development.
She said, “As a stakeholder in the struggle, the PAP Administrator has included impacted communities, families of ex-agitators, women and the vulnerable during and after the Declaration of Amnesty in the Niger Delta.
“This has led to Mr President’s goodwill and love for the Niger Delta Region to increase the budget for PAP in the current financial cycle.
“I use this medium to call on the Federal Government, IOC’s and Development Partners to borrow a leave from the Chief Otuaro’s Model of impacted communities in their operations in community development.”
