The paramount ruler of Alesa Community in Eleme Local Government Area, HRH Emere Emperor John Nkpe has appealed to the various levels of government for about 20 hectares of land to enable his council of chiefs construct a world class hospital which will gulp over N20billion.
Emere Nkpe made the appeal recently during the traditional chieftaincy coronation rites of the former Rivers State chairman of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Chief Sunny Nkpe as Ofe-Ngbao Nkporon.
“We need about 20 hectares of land to enable us build a hospital which will gulp about N20billion. Therefore, we are appealing to government at all levels to come to our aid by giving us over 20 hectares of land to erect this project. In fact, this project when completed will complement governments’ existing hospital as well as provide jobs for the unemployed youths in the country.”
The monarch explained that the state of the art of the hospital would be of a different level and when ready, will be second to none and also be replicated in other states across the country.
The monarch pointed out that with such a project in the country, youths would be liberated from poverty and unemployment. He said his challenge is how to see Governor Sim Fubara.
“I want to really tell you that if we have such hospital in River State and in about three or four more states, it will help reduce unemployment in the country. If we have such project in the country, the youth will be liberated from poverty. However, my problem now is how to see Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State and convince him on how fund will be release or made available for this project,” Nkpe emphasized.
He expressed optimism that having spent about 25 years on the throne, Governor Fubara and his team would consider his request.
He urged his subjects, particularly Chief Sunny Nkpe, the new chief, to be obedient and respect constituted authority.
On his part, Chief Sunny Nkpe who, is now Oneh Nkporon of Alesa said the new chieftaincy title conferred on him would spur him to serve the people of Alesa community, Eleme LGA and humanity as well.
He lauded Emperor Nkpe and the Alesa Council of Chiefs for the honour as he prayed for their good health and longevity. He assured them that he would not disappoint them.
