Presenting an address, on behalf of teachers in the school during its 7th annual maiden inter-house sports competition at the school field recently in Port Harcourt, Mrs. China Leah Chika said they would continue to thank the governor for permission to organise sports competition and making sports compulsory across the state.
Said she: “We want to thank our gallant and amiable governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara who made sports compulsory for primary schools in the state and developing the Real Madrid Academy in the state. We also appreciate him further for the installation of the solar light to St. Andrew State School 1.

She expressed satisfaction with the way Dr. Fyneface Aka has been running the state UBE Board, adding that the learning environment in the state is second to none.
“The entire management and staff of this school want to appreciate our father, Ven. Dr Aka for his care and support to the staff and teachers under the UBE board. She described sports as an essential part of the learning process. “Sports are an essential and integral part of the learning process which creates a balance of mind in the learners, especially in the early years of life. On the challenges facing the four schools, Mrs Chika had this to say: “We the teachers of this school want to appeal to the authority of the Rivers State that more teachers should be employed into the system to enable the smooth running of the schools.
“Besides, we need the support of parents with regards to the monitoring of the children’s work at home and help in bringing them to the schools. Parents should assist teachers to further supervise the pupil’s activities daily, so as to fight the menace of moral decadence such as cultism, stealing and other social vices in our society.”
