The Vicar of St. Mathias Anglican Church, Diocese of Evo (Anglican Communion) Church of Nigeria, Ven. Chieme Chimaobi has commended members of the Men’s Christian Association (MCA) and other fathers of the church for their invaluable contribution to the growth of the church.
Ven. Chieme Chimaobi made this commendation over the weekend during the 2024 Father’s Day celebration of the church with the theme: ‘Lord To Whom Shall We Go’. John 6:68, and launch of musical instruments.
Ven. Chimaobi said on assumption office as the vicar of the parish about two years ago, he mobilized the parishioners towards the completion and dedication of the ministers’ vicarage, noting that they contributed significantly and immensely in all church projects.
He described the men of the church as about the best, saying that he was pleased with their outfit for the 2024 Father’s Day celebration.
Ven. Chimaobi stated that the 2024 focus of the church was to give scholarship to indigent students and empower the less privileged.
The president of CMA of the church, Sir Sunday Bekwele Ejekwu said that the purpose of celebrating the 2024 Father’s Day celebration was to complete church projects.
“The purpose of the 2024 Father’s Day celebration of St. Mathias Anglican Church is to raise fund to enable us buy music instruments, furnish the minister’s vicarage as well as prepare for the hosting of the CMA induction ceremony which will take place at St. Mathias Anglican church Atali in July this year,” Sir Ejekwu asserted.
He said in 2024, St. Mathias members “have moved mountains in this year’s celebration. We are happy that we reached our expectation and target.
The president charged members of the CMA of the church to be faithful and look up to God. “This is because when there is casting down and there is also calling up,” Sir Ejekwu urged.
He lauded women and youth of the church for the love they showed to their fathers.
The chairman of the 2024 planning committee, Mr. Joel Chukwuemeka Odo said that members of the CMA and the leadership of the church decided to work together to achieve common goals and objectives, assuring that the musical instruments will be bought.
He stated that despite the economic hardship, parents and their children should continue to serve God and adjust their life style and standard of living.
