A leader of the Action Peoples Party, APP, Mrs. Agnes Onyekwe, has expressed joy that the last local government election in Rivers State will go down in history as one of the best, devoid of violence, rigging and manipulation.
The APP ward 8 Chairman, Obio/Akpor LGA, Engr. Richman Chuku, said the victory of APP was well deserved because they campaigned vigorously, selling their manifestos to the electorate.
He thanked all voters for turning out to exercise their franchise, as it is their constitutional rights to do so.
Ms Tina Ogwutum, a leader of Ward 8, Obio/Akpor, popularly known as ‘Aunty London’, noted that the election went smoothly and peaceful.
Tina, who also doubles as APP agent, further noted that all the parties that declared interest in the election are fully participating.
She said her party won because God Almighty showed that He was on the throne, and defeated all powers of darkness.
In his own comment, leader of APP in Ward 8, Amb. Austin Chinda, stated that the election has proved the stuff Rivers people are made, adding that enough is enough.
“We are all happy for this achievement,” Chinda said, adding that with the elected Chairmen and Councilors, there will be massive development in the 23 Local Government Areas in the state.

He said he was impressed over the rate of turn out of voters, and thanked all for given democracy a new face.
“At the end of the day, who ever emerges victorious will be supported as election is not a do or die affair”, he sounded.
