PILEX Center also known as the Peoples Advocate is a people centered organization focused on advocacy for the welfare of WETHE PEOPLE.
It is championing cases of human and environmental rights abuses in the Niger Delta and was very vocal in challenging the illegitimacy of the six months state of emergency declared in Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu last year.
The organization challenged the democratic disruption with a legal action.
It is further pushing the environmental justice campaign for oil and gas host communities facing serious livelihood, health and social challenges as a result of unregulated extractive activities by oil corporations to the African Human Rights.
Pilex has also conducted environmental impact research on the impact of oil activities in communities as part of preparations for the justice campaign.
