The founder and president of the Believers LoveWorld Ministries International, Pastor Chris Oyakilome has distributed food items to over 500 Indigenes in Ovia North East Local Government Area in Edo State.
Pastor Oyakilome who was represented at the event by the zonal pastor of Christ Embassy Mid-West Zone, Pastor Mary Owaise said the move is to ameliorate the sufferings that the effects of Covid-19 had on the people.
She said:”We are here doing this because Pastor Chris Oyakilome cares for humanity just like Jesus Christ. The Bible says for God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son to die for us.
“So, there was a demonstration of love and Pastor Oyakilome’s love for humanity just like Jesus prompted him to initiate this project; that we should give this food relief food items to the people of Okada.”
He noted that the pandemic has caused many losses.
“Few months ago, we had the issue of Covid-19, which is still on now. Quite a number of people lost their livelihoods. Some lost their jobs and businesses and find themselves in bad situations.
“We are doing it to help reduce the pain people are going through in this Covid-19 era. Pastor Oyakilome said we should extend the hand of fellowship to the poor people, and aid them in whatever way we can, and this is one of the ways.”
Asked rational used to select beneficiaries, she said it took them sometime. “We did a lot of campaign and visited the communities. We went through the leadership of the communities, which is the normal thing we do as an organization. And we registered the people that came out. They were duly registered with numbers.
“If you notice, we gave the food items with the number we allocated to them. So, anyone who we didn’t give to didn’t register,” Oyakilome said.
Also speaking, Pastor Fabian Onosu, who is in charge of the Christ Embassy,Ugbowu, said Pastor Oyakilome is giving the food items to the poor people because of the love he has for them as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said the distribution of relief items started from the ministers and extended to the various communities through the Pastor Chris Oyakilome Foundation.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke, Elder OsahonIdehen and Mrs. OsatoIgbe, thanked Pastor Chris Oyakilome for the food items. They prayed that God should give him good health, wisdom, prosperity and money to continue the project.
Communities that benefited were; Okada, Utese, Egbeta and Ofuwengbe, all from Ovia North East LGA.
