Oleksandr Zinchenko has featured in seven of Manchester City’s nine Premier League matches this season
Manchester City duo Oleksandr Zinchenko and Rodri are set to miss up to six weeks with injuries.
Left-back Zinchenko has had surgery on a knee problem and midfielder Rodri – who has been deputising at centre-back – has suffered a hamstring injury.
Both players look set to miss a trip to title rivals Liverpool on 10 November, and the visits of Aston Villa and Southampton.
“I’m a little bit concerned,” manager Pep Guardiola said.
“In a few positions we don’t have enough players,” he added.
But Guardiola does not expect to strengthen his side in the January transfer market: “I think we are not going to buy,” he said.
“Our need is not just for six months, it’s for a long time and the important players will not be sold. We are going to stay all the season, I think, with all the players we have right now.”
Ukraine international Zinchenko posted a picture from his hospital bed on his Instagram account after surgery in Barcelona.
