The deputy senate president, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has blamed the People’s Democratic Party for throwing away its constitution to satisfy Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa’s political ambition.
Omo-Agege who stated this during the inauguration of the Tinubu Support Organisation in Asaba, said APC kept faith with this practice as enshrined in the constitution of both APC and PDP.
The APC governorship candidate in Delta State in his speech read by the Mr. Nnamdi Ofonye, said Atiku and Okowa ate their vomit and so cannot be trusted with the constitution of Nigeria.
“On the other hand, the PDP, in order to satisfy the political ambition of two men, Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa, ate its own vomit.
“PDP threw away its own Constitution, and rejected decency and justice embedded in the power rotation doctrine and nominated Atiku Abubakar to the detriment of the entire Southern Nigeria.
“If PDP will not honour its own constitution, how can it be trusted with the constitution of Nigeria? I urge the group to campaign with these facts, as well as the numerous achievements of the Buhari’s administration and be rest assured that Deltans will fully support our great party, : he stated..
He said the duty of members of the support group is to mobilize support for Tinubu.
“We are gathered here today to formally inaugurate the Tinubu Support Organization, Delta State chapter as countdown to the formal commencement of campaigns ahead of the 2023 general elections.
“As a support group in Delta State, your duty is to mobilize support across the length and breadth of the state for our party to ensure that APC wins Delta State in the presidential and National Assembly elections in February 2023 and the governorship and state Assembly elections two weeks later in March.
“As you carry out this task, I urge you to go out there and explain to our people that after eight years of President Muhammadu Buhari administration, in line with the practice of power rotation that has been in existence since 1999, the next president should be a southerner,” he charged.
Omo-Agege said APC has kept faith with the party constitution.
“Our party, APC kept faith with this practice that has been enshrined in the constitution of both APC and PDP; and nominated a southerner, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as APC presidential candidate”
In his address after inauguration, the state coordinator of the TSO, Mr. Philip Kachukwu said the group will mobilize massively especially at the grassroots, to vote for Tinubu come 2023.
He condemned the recent poll that rated Peter Obi over Tinubu and Atiku respectively.
Other speakers at the inauguration said the issue of Muslim-Muslim ticket does not matter, insisting that APC is not a religious party.
