The Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Engr. Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua, has the Commission will continue to support programmes and projects that empower youths of the Niger Delta region.
Speaking when he hosted and formally presented car keys of a 2022 Kia Picanto to the winner of the Niger Delta Talent Hunt, NIDETH, Elvis Uchenna Igwe, Audu-Ohwavborua stated that the Commission will help youths to develop their creative talents.
“This is part of the capacity building programmes, which the commission does to show case the great creative talents in the region,” he said.
Speaking further, he called on the media to publicise projects of the Commission which he noted were mostly in the rural areas, and could be out of the view of the discerning public.
“Most of the things done by the NDDC are not seen because they are in the interior. All we seek is collaboration from all stakeholders,” he noted.
The NDDC Director, Youth and Sports, Mr. Offiong Ephraim, said that the Commission placed premium on regular engagements with youths of the Niger Delta region.
He said, “The Niger Delta Talent Hunt is a youth development programme aimed at harnessing the entertainment potential of the Niger Delta youths. Talented youths from the nine Niger Delta States participated in the auditions, which took place in Edo, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom states.”
