The majority leader and member representing Isoko South Constituency 1 in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Ferguson Onwo has expressed confidence in the ability of the governor-elect of the state.
Speaking to journalists in his office, shortly after the valedictory session of the 7th Assembly, the majority leader of the House noted that the incoming governor of the state, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori would excel as governor based on his wide experience as speaker of the House, who has excelled in law making with a good working relationship with the executive.
Hon. Onwo said it was a thing of joy for him to be part of the Assembly that produced the state governor.
On the valedictory session of the House, the Majority Leader observed that there was mixed feelings for them because some members were not coming back to the House, adding that it was an opportunity for members and staff to share their experiences in the past four years.
He commended members of the 7th Assembly for the wonderful and cordial relationship that existed among the legislators throughout their tenure and acknowledged the robust relationship that existed between the legislative arm and the executive.
Hon. Onwo, who, is also the chairman, House Committee on Information also noted that the valedictory session was a ritual that signified the end of Assembly term prior to the introduction of a new one, adding that he expects the 8th Assembly to live up to the billing as the most vibrant Assembly among others.
