As the battle for WAFU B qualifiers for the CAF Women Champions League entered the semi-finals stage in Benin, the deputy governor of Edo State Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu has promised Delta Queens players N1million per goal in the first semi-final match against Athletico of Ivory Coast.
Comrade Shaibu who, just returned from his annual leave from the USA, made the pledge while addressing the Nigeria representatives in the dressing room at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium shortly before kick-off.
The sports loving Edo deputy governor in his usual display of patriotism, while announcing the support to Delta Queens, told the team that Benin is home to Delta Queens and they will get 100 percent support
He charged them to beat their opponents and pick the ticket to the champions’ league
