The people of Abua/Odual are in jubilant mood following the confirmation of their son, Udi Odum as a Minister by President Muhammadu Buhari.
To display this joy, a frontline organization in the LGA, Abua-Odual Kupe Foundation in collaboration with the Abua Odual chapter of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC organized a youth rally on the major streets of the council headquarters, Abua Central thanking God and President Buhari for giving one of their own a national spot.
The oil rich LGA has been crying of marginalization for long. Except for Dr Monday Okonny, who was appointed Commissioner for Education in the third republic, the people have had no representative in elective office at the federal level.

Udi Odum was a former council chairman under the Amaechi administration and his many development projects won him the respect of the people
