Edo State Deputy Governor, Mr Godwins Marvellous Omobayo, has charged security agencies to be neutral during the forthcoming governorship election in September.
The Deputy Governor gave the charge during a courtesy visit to him by the Commander, 4 Mechanized Brigade, Benin, Brigadier-General Ebenezer Olusesan Oduyebo, and his senior military officers.
Omobayo affirmed his commitment to his duties while pledging loyalty to Governor Godwin Obaseki in providing good governance and protecting lives and property.
He commended the military for their role in national security and described them as a unique institution with integrity and excellence.
Omobayo expressed optimism that Edo people will support the PDP and its candidate on account of the Governor’s performance in the last 7 years.
Brig-Gen Oduyebo, congratulated the Deputy Governor on his appointment and assumption of office. He stated that he came to formally introduce himself and his team to the deputy governor.
He expressed the commitment of the military in partnering with other sister security agencies in protecting lives and property, while assuring a level playing field for a free, fair and credible governorship election.
