There was celebration on the 17th of February, 2023 when a housewife, Mrs. Esther Omouvi, 25, was delivered of a set of triplets (all boys) at Nchia General Hospital, Eleme Local Government in Rivers State.
The father of the triplets, Mr. Charles Omouvi, 32, is without a regular job. They already had a boy before the triplets came.
It was the first time in so many years that the hospital has witnessed the birth of triplets. The three boys and their mother were safe and sound but had to stay a little longer in the hospital.
The triplets were visited by the Councillor representing Ogale in Eleme Legislative Assembly, Hon. Josephine Obari, who made a donation of baby materials and cash to the parents of the triplets.
A retired matron of the hospital, Mrs. Omimor Gomba-Abbey, who celebrated with the family made a token donation too and enjoined other members of the public to come to the assistance of the parents who need support to take care of the kids.
The family which hails from Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State are resident at Pipeline Road in Ogale in Eleme Local Government Area.
Hon Obari also visited other nursing mothers in the hospital and held discussions with the nurses and doctor in charge of the hospital. She disclosed that she was impressed with the labour facilities in the hospital and appealed to residents of the area to take advantage of the safe facilities and expertise of the personnel to patronize the hospital.
Mr Omouvi and his wife expressed appreciation to the councilor for showing care to both indigenous people and non-natives living in Ogale.
In her reaction, Mrs. Gomba-Abbey said, “God is faithful, ever faithful and still in the business of blessing whom He chooses with what money cannot buy. He generously lavished His blessings, Triplets, all boys, on a family. You can go and see for yourself, you can also tap into that blessing by showing some love. I’ve done mine. They need us to survive the times. What God cannot do does not exist.”
