Ijaw Republican Assembly Patriotic Front IRA-PF gathered Ijaw people and friends in honour of Ijaw persons who have pushed issues of Ijaw justice and development over the years. Among those honoured, were Chief Government Akpemupolo, aka Tompolo foremost Ijaw/Niger Delta activist and leader of the defunct movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND. Others include, Prof. Banjamin Ogele Okaba, President Ijaw National Congress INC, Timi Kaiser-Wilhem Ogoriba, founder of MOSIEND, Annkio Briggs, environmental and human rights advocate, Ibiba DonPedro Managing Director, National Point weekly/CANDOUR magazine. More still are, Alabo T.O. Graham Douglas, Prof. Lawrence Ekpebu who received post humous awards. Se-Alabo Reginald Abbey Hart and several others were honoured.
