The ijaw National Congress Worldwide (INC) wishes to condemn in strong terms, the recent attack on the military and the killing of 22 soldiers of the Nigerian Army.
The INC describes this act to be very barbaric, sad, and unfortunate
The INC was reliably informed that, an indigene of Okoloba community in Bomadi Local Government in Delta State was kidnapped on the 5th of March purportedly by indigenes of Okuama , whoes corpse was later found on the 8th of March and the case was immediately reported to the DPO of Bomodi police station.
On the 12th of March, 2024, there was another case of a missing person and kidnap, which prompted leaders of Okoloba community to report to the joint task force (JTF)
In the process of rescuing the kidnapped person from Okuama , the soldiers were ambushed and attacked. This then resulted in the killing of 22 soldiers,1 lieutenant, 2 captains, and 18 other ranks.
On this note, the INC calls on the Federal Government and all necessary security agencies to bring the culprits to book.
We also want to use this medium for record purposes to state that Okuama is an Urhobo community in the Warri South local government area and not an Ijaw community, as being speculated in some national dailies
The INC also wish to use this medium to sympathize with the families of the bereaved military personnel, who in the course of service, were unjustly killed.
The INC also sympathizes with the bereaved families of the innocent Okoloba indigenes that were killed by these criminals.
