Jonathan Is Not APC Member – Otiotio

The Bayelsa State chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Dennis Otiotio has revealed that Dr. Goodluck Jonathan was not a registered and card carrying member of APC, Bayelsa state chapter.
Reacting to the latest development on Jonathan’s marriage with APC, the Bayelsa state APC chairman said” Good luck Jonathan is for now, not a registered member of APC but “as a citizen of this country,
he has the right to join any political party of his choice”.
He said the former president is welcome to join the party.
“For you to be a member of APC, they will issue you membership card and collate your name in the membership register in your ward. So he has not done that but any time he is coming to do it, we will welcomehim and we welcome everybody that is coming to the party.
“There are procedures; anybody that applies for a waiver, the national working committee will meet and look at the merit of the person’s case and either grant or not grant waiver. These are procedural issues but as at this moment, none of all these things have happened.
“At the screening, if he lacks most of these things, he will be disqualified but let’s see how it goes”, the APC leader explained.
However, the Ward 13 chairman of APC in Ogbia Local Government where Jonathan is supposed to do the registration, Igori Freeman, confirmed through a call, that Goodluck has already registered with the APC though he was not clear about the date of registration.
He said “As I talk to you now, I don’t even know the date of my registration not to talk of his own. I don’t know. I handed over every document to the local government to the state.
“And my duty is to share and check the completion of every registration and handed over to them. I don’t know how he registered, the date he registered. Even myself, I cannot remember my own unless I carry my membership card to know my date.
“Sincerely this is the truth I don’t know. If anybody said that he didn’t register it is a lie. If you ask the people on top or the person in concern, he has a specific answer to give. My job was to share the document to every unit and I cannot go to every unit”.
National Point learnt that the ward chairman had told another journalist in a phone interview that Good luck is a registered member of APC.
He said, “I know that too well that he registered but registration is not to be publicized to the world. The party register was with me. It was not only him. Some dignitaries from PDP registered with him after David Lyon’s election.
He directed the journalist to the state chairman.
“What you need to do, you can go to the state chairman and ask him that the ward chairman said that he registered. We have finished with the registration so I can’t give details because I returned all the data after everything”.
