Faithful of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria (Niger Delta Synod) have held their 7th Annual Synod meeting 2022 with the theme: A Royal Priesthood: Expanding the Frontiers of the Church, 1 Peter 2:9.
Speaking at the grand finale of the synod over the weekend at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Rumuomasi Parish, Port Harcourt North presbytery, Elder Dr. Egwu Nkama said that members of the Niger Delta synod of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria have done well since its existence in the last 7 years, especially in the area of missionary works, education and health.
Dr. Nkama hinted that they have over 3 congregations in Ogoni land, Bonny and some other part of Rivers State, adding that there are several breakthrough and good news recorded.
He described the 7th Annual Synod and meeting of the Church faithful as splendid.
He urged the delegates and faithful of Presbyterian Church of Nigeria across the country to continue to pursue the trajectory of the church.
“Wherever members of Presbyterian Church of Nigeria are, let them continue with the trajectory of the church. In fact, they should continue to pursue the doctrine, vision and mission of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria,” Dr. Nkama urged.
He promised that the leaders and leadership of Rumuomasi Parish, of Port Harcourt North Presbytery would continue with their efforts towards evangelism and church expansion and growth.
Earlier, the moderator of the 7th Annual Synod and Meeting 2022, Rt. Rev. Daniel Ndukwe said that the Niger Delta synod of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, has recorded several mile stones, adding that their focus is on evangelism and church growth.
“The leadership and members of the Niger Delta Synod of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, have recorded several milestones, successes and achievements. In fact, I want to tell you that we are focused on evangelism and church growth and church planning. We have moved from 50 to 100 part of our mission is to raise fund for the planting of churches across the Niger delta synod.”
He expressed satisfaction with the fraternity that exist between the Niger Delta synod of the Presbyterian Church and other sister churches.
“The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria is part of CCN family of CAN. As art of CAN, we have had fraternal relationship with Anglican, Methodist and other sister churches across the state, Rt. Rev. Ndukwe asserted.
He described synod as a kind of annual AGM of the denomination, pointing out that the period is used for assessment and appraisal and review.
He appealed to the Governor of the South-South and South-East of South Eastern Nigeria to fix their roads and pay attention to their roads.
