A new Commissioner of Police has been appointed to head the Rivers State Police Command. He is Mr. Olugbenga Adewole. He took over from Mr. Mustapha Bala, who was recently promoted Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 6, Calabar.
Adewole who assumed duties on Friday in Port Harcourt was until his appointment in charge of the Department of Operations, Rivers State Police Command. He is the 47th Rivers State Commissioner of Police, and the third to be appointed in the last 14 months.
According to a press release issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Grace Iringe Koko, CP Adewole hails from Ibadan Town in the Ibadan North/East Local Government Area of Oyo State.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Ibadan (1991).
He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 10th June, 1994 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
